WVHS

What Is FFA

FFA (Future Farmers of America) makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education. FFA membership today is comprised of Over 1 Million student members in grades seven through 12 who belong to one of 7,859 local FFA chapters throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

FFA was organized nationally in 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1950, Congress granted FFA a federal charter, making it an integral part of public agricultural instruction under the National Vocational Education Act. FFA receives no federal funding.

Why Join FFA

West Valley FFA offers students more than just a place to learn — it’s a place to lead, grow, and belong. Whether interested in animals, plants, leadership, mechanics, or business, FFA has something for you. Members gain valuable experiences through competitions, travel opportunities, conferences, and hands-on learning. You'll build confidence, make friends, explore careers, and develop skills that will last a lifetime.
Joining FFA means becoming part of a nationwide network of future leaders who are passionate about agriculture and making a difference.
