West Valley Ag Staff
Our Mission
At West Valley FFA, our mission is to empower students through agricultural education, leadership development, and hands-on learning. We believe in preparing the next generation not just for careers in agriculture, but for life — with the skills, confidence, and character they need to thrive in any path they choose.
Our team is dedicated to creating a supportive, engaging environment where students grow as individuals, discover their passions, and learn by doing. Whether it's in the classroom, in the field, or in front of a crowd, we’re here to guide and inspire every student to reach their full potential.
We do what we do because we believe in the power of education, the strength of community, and the future our students are building — one project, one goal, one moment at a time.

Students, parents, and community members — we’re thrilled to have you explore all that our award-winning agriculture program has to offer!
At West Valley High School, we believe in hands-on learning that prepares students for life beyond the classroom. Our Agriculture Mechanics Pathway (Ag Mech 1, 2, and 3) gives students the chance to build real-world skills in welding, construction, plumbing, and more — all while working in a fully-equipped shop environment. Whether students are interested in pursuing a trade, starting their own business, or simply learning how to work with their hands, Ag Mechanics is a powerful way to explore career options and develop confidence.
But our program goes beyond technical skills. Through our connection with the FFA (Future Farmers of America), students gain unmatched opportunities to grow as leaders, develop communication skills, and make a real impact in their community. From public speaking and teamwork to hands-on competitions and industry field trips, FFA offers something for every student.
We are proud to offer a program that helps students prepare for careers, college, and life — all at the same time. Whether your child dreams of entering the skilled trades, attending a four-year university, or exploring a career in agriculture, West Valleys' Ag Program is the place to start.
Feel free to browse our site to learn more about class offerings, FFA events, and student achievements. We look forward to welcoming your family into our agriculture community!

Agriculture Advisor - Danelle Gheen
College Bachelor of Science, Agriculture, Cal Poly Pomona Master of Science, Agriculture Science, Cal Poly Pomona |
Hi, I'm Ms. Gheen, and I’m proud to be part of the West Valley High School team for the past 13 years. As a graduate of Cal Poly Pomona with a Master’s in Agricultural Science, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to help grow not just crops and animals—but future leaders.
At West Valley, I currently teach Plant and Soil Science, Viticulture, and the Veterinary Science pathway—dynamic courses that give students real-world, hands-on experiences in agriculture and science. Whether students dream of working in the wine industry, becoming a vet, or growing food for the future, our program lays the foundation for meaningful careers and lifelong skills.
One of the greatest joys of my job is watching students gain confidence, leadership, and a strong work ethic through their involvement in the FFA (Future Farmers of America). From public speaking to hands-on competitions and community service, FFA helps students become not just career-ready—but life-ready.
Our agriculture program is more than a classroom—it's a community, a farm, and a launching pad for success. I invite you to explore all that West Valley Agriculture has to offer. Let’s grow something great—together!

As a proud graduate of this very FFA program, I’m excited to now contribute to it in a new role while pursuing my education. I’m currently working toward an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Visual Design, with plans to continue my studies in architecture. Here at West Valley, I support students with a wide range of hands-on activities, including planting, animal dissection, farm work, Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE) projects, and in-class assignments. It’s incredibly rewarding to give back to the program that helped shape my own path.
Being part of this program is truly a one-of-a-kind experience—one your future self will thank you for. I’m excited to be here and encourage every student to get involved and see where FFA can take them!
